Visiting the Philadelphia Zoo

This zoo attraction is famous as being the location where Rocky Balboa proposed to his fiancee Adrian in the movie “Rocky”. Another attraction is the McNeil Aviation Center. This aviary houses many birds from the tropics and sub tropical regions of the world, and houses 2 species of birds that are now extinct in the wild, the Guam Rail and the Guam Kingfisher. You can also take a ride in the Zooballon. This tethered helium balloon takes visitors 400 feet up over the zoo, giving a great view of the zoo and the city of Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Zoo is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $14 per visitor. Zooballoon rides are $15 per person. Group tickets and discount tickets for active military personnel and families are available.
