Visiting the Liberty Bell

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is home to a number of sites of historic importance to the United States, including the Liberty Bell. Officially the bell of the Pennsylvania State House, it rang on important occasions, including the public reading of the Declaration of Independence. While the bell was created in 1753, it wasn't until over 90 years later in 1846 that the famous crack began to appear. As of 2011, the Liberty Bell is housed at Independence National Historic Park, run by the National Park Service, in the heart of the city's downtown. Plan a visit to Philadelphia with the services of a bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coach or school bus chartered from Bus Company Philadelphia.
Plan your transportation to the Liberty Bell Center at 526 Market St. Park at the Independence Visitor Center at Arch and Market streets. The underground garage provides an alternative to on-street parking, which often is hard to find. Choose public transportation to avoid parking charges. Take the Southeast Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) regional rail line to the Market-East Station and walk several blocks to the park. Public buses and taxicabs offer other transportation options, use a charter bus from Bus Company Philadelphia as an alternative.
Visit the Liberty Bell between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The site closes at 5 p.m., and is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. No admission fee or ticket is necessary. Utilize the restroom at the Independence Visitor Center, on the park's grounds, since there are no facilities at the Liberty Bell Center. The visitor center also houses a cafe, gift shop, educational displays about Philadelphia's history, wireless Internet access and free maps of the area. Take advantage of the services of the friendly staff at Bus Company Philadelphia to help plan your stay in the city.
When visiting the Liberty Bell Center, bring only small bags to speed up the screening process, which is required of all visitors. The center houses the bell, along with exhibits in video, written and pictorial form, that chronicle its history and significance. Charter bus visitors can view the bell in its location in a large, glass-enclosed chamber, which faces Independence Hall. Visitors walk into the chamber and can stand within a few feet of the Liberty Bell.
Charter bus visitors can visit the other sites of the park, such as Independence Hall or the National Constitution Center. The National Parks Service offers free ranger-led tours of the Liberty Bell Center and major sites within the park. Make advance reservations for Independence Hall from March through December. Admission is free. The National Constitution Center charges an admission fee. Independence Hall, considered the birthplace of the United States, is where legislators, such as Thomas Jefferson, signed the Declaration of Independence. At the National Constitution Center, you can learn about the impact this important document has on present-day life.

Dining out in Philadelphia

Philadelphia’s connection with dining goes back centuries, and during the spring and summer months, outdoor dining is all the rage. With all the historic architecture to be found in Philadelphia, dining al fresco is indeed a good option, and there is no better way of getting around to your dining destinations than with a charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coach or school bus rented from Bus Company Philadelphia. Travel around in style and comfort in your fully equipped rental bus as your head into Philadelphia for a tour of it’s best outdoor dining destinations.
Parc at Park Rittenhouse is Stephen’s Starr’s take on the brasseries of Paris, right down to the aproned waiters. During fine weather, the outside tables are in high demand to those who wish to see and be seen. The menu features French classics such as warm croissants, escargots, bouillabaisse and towering plateaus de fruits de mer which is complemented by an extensive wine list of predominantly French and American wines. Rental bus diners should take note of the French onion soup, which is rich and cheesy, and the strong, dense flavor of raclette make’s Parc’s cheeseburger worth ordering.
Rental bus visitors will like El Vez, with its fantastical Mexican decor, including a gold plated low rider and guacamole at your tableside. The music here is loud, and the crowd is young and good looking. Menu offerings are traditionally Mexican, including sweet corn soup with huitlacoche, cactus and crab salad, tacos of mahi mahi, duck confit flautas and a fresh selection of ceviches. The slow-roasted pork tacos spiked with jalapeƱos are a must try for rental bus visitors. Outside dining is great at El Vez during warmer months, where the hip and happening crowd parties the night away.
The City Tavern has a history going back to 1774, when it was visited by John Adams. Today, owner Walter Staib serves rental bus diners with authentic and updated classic Colonial cuisine at the restored Tavern. Located in the most historic square mile in all of America, in the Independence National Historical Park, the City Tavern offers rental bus diners a quintessential Colonial dining experience, with rooms lit by candlelight, staff dressed in Colonial costume and tables set with pewterware. Try the West Indies pepper pot soup, medallions of veal or a tavern lobster pot pie. Visiting the Philadelphia Zoo

A great way to visit Philadelphia Zoo is with a charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coaches or school bus hired from Bus Company Philadelphia. With a rental bus, you and your group have a flexibility of vehicle choice and trip schedule that normal bus services cannot give you.
The Philadelphia Zoo is the oldest zoo in the United States. It opened in July, 1874. At its opening, it held 1,000 animals. The Smithsonian Institution used to house its animal collection at the Philadelphia Zoo before the National Zoo was opened. The Philadelphia Zoo has a worldwide reputation for successfully breeding many endangered animals in captivity. The Zoo is also involved in animal habitat conservation efforts worldwide.
Located on the West Bank of the Schuylkill River, the Philadelphia Zoo sits on a 42 acre site. The zoo currently houses a collection of over 1,300 animals, many of which are endangered. Education and conservation of animals is very much at the forefront of the zoo’s agenda, and visitors to the Philadelphia Zoo will find many educational and interactive exhibits.
Visiting the zoo is best done with a rental bus from Bus Company Philadelphia, especially if you are travelling in a group. The Philadelphia Zoo caters to group visits, and special arrangements can be made with the zoo for private group guided tours with docents. Docents are specially trained Philadelphia Zoo volunteers who can give groups guided tours and educational lectures on just about any zoo animal.
Some of the attractions at Philadelphia Zoo are the Big Cat Falls, where lions, tigers, pumas and jaguars are housed. This zoo attraction is famous as being the location where Rocky Balboa proposed to his fiancee Adrian in the movie “Rocky”. Another attraction is the McNeil Aviation Center. This aviary houses many birds from the tropics and sub tropical regions of the world, and houses 2 species of birds that are now extinct in the wild, the Guam Rail and the Guam Kingfisher. You can also take a ride in the Zooballon. This tethered helium balloon takes visitors 400 feet up over the zoo, giving a great view of the zoo and the city of Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Zoo is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $14 per visitor. Zooballoon rides are $15 per person. Group tickets and discount tickets for active military personnel and families are available.

Choosing a Bus Company-Philadelphia Sightseeing at Its Best

You have a lot of choices when it comes to setting up a charter bus excursion with a bus company. Philadelphia is just one of many of the destinations that we currently service. If you're curious why our company is chosen more often than other, the reason is for our commitment to service. From the earliest planning stages to the time when your driver drops off your group and your bus tour draws to a close; we make your comfort, safety and satisfaction with our services our top priority.
Need a Good Reason for Hiring a Bus Company?
Philadelphia is a hub for both business and pleasure trips. The city has a rich history and was the home to many of the early founders of this country. Ben Franklin's influence is felt heavily around Philadelphia and one type of tour many people create is a historical tour that includes various stops at some of the oldest buildings and homes in the city.
Another reason to hire a charter bus is for a corporate meeting or seminar. This is a very cost effective way to get your employees from one point to another and ensure that not only does everyone arrive at the same time, no one is fatigued from having to drive, worry about parking or any of the other hassles that come with making a road trip.
Are the Buses Comfortable?
This is a common question. No matter if your trip is for your church or youth group or you're taking a group of employees across Philadelphia to a seminar or other corporate event, your group will ride in style. Our buses come with soft, upholstered seats and some models have leather upholstery. State-of-the-art sound systems including CD and DVD players, televisions and of course there's always the view out of the window as the charter bus rolls by. Other models of charter buses have finely installed Pergo flooring and small bar areas.
How Do I Know Which Bus to Choose?
Helping you choose the right charter bus package for your budget and your group size is the job of your bus company. Philadelphia is just one destination that we service and our representatives will be happy to help you set up the right type of charter bus package that will be comfortable for your group as well as very affordable.
And those are just the basics about hiring a charter bus. We know you have choices and that's why we strive to keep our service and safety number one for our customers - yet another reason why time and again, they choose our bus company- Philadelphia and beyond.

Barnes Foundation (Philadelphia)

The Barnes Foundation is more than just a gallery or a park...it has always been described as a gallery in a park, a garden in a gallery, which is astoundingly true. Through the creative imagination and work of renowned architects, Tod Williams and Billie Tsien, the Barnes Foundation is truly a sigh to behold, especially when the building itself is eco-friendly and self-sustainable in many ways. So, even if you are not a fan of art and all the fancy stuff, the building itself is not just breathtaking but it would be fun to explore the self-sustaining features added to this magnificently popular tourist hotspot.
The gray and gold limestone texture outside of the building is very gorgeous at night and even if you are merely passing by, we think that you should at least get off for a minute or two to snap a shot of it.
The Barnes Foundation stands at ninety three thousand square feet and holds strong in two-tier. The gallery is strategically-located in the Parkway Museum District where most of the museums and art galleries can be conveniently found – they are all just a party bus ride away. It would be fun to learn more about their green rood and how the surface of the building allows rain and rain water can be recycled and reused by the gallery.
With that said, the real reason people come here in the rented tour bus would be to take in the sight of the original works like 59 Matisses and 69 Cezannes. The exhibit also holds many other work from renowned artists from the likes of Picasso, Manet, Seurat and many, many more.
The building in itself was first built in 1922 for Barnes Foundation and for the founders to roll out an experimental educational system. They were more interested in finding a new cognitive development study which leaned towards problem-solving and critical-thinking. In 2004, the foundation was able to move to a new location downtown Philadelphia and thus, the birth of a new art gallery.

The Best BYOB Restaurants In Philadelphia

Are you looking around for a good BYOB restaurant to hold you gathering, be it a corporate meeting, church outing, school trip, wedding reception or family vacation in Philadelphia? Then you are in luck because our writers have some of the best tips about which BYOB restaurant to head to for a private gathering that does not cost a bomb, a kidney and a leg.
For instance, you can get your money's worth at a nice little nook called Chloe, a small but very nice and inexpensive BYOB restaurant. During week days, it gives off a very nice and comfortable atmosphere although it gets loud and quite uncomfortable when it is filled up during peak hours. If you don't mind the small setting, this is one of our bus company Philadelphia recommendations that we have for you. However, the place does NOT take reservations, therefore, you are going to have to wing it and see if the place is filled up. They do take bookings for group dinners, just like booking a charter bus, coach bus, mini bus, passenger bus or party bus, but only during certain times of the year. We recommend looking them up on Google first before heading over in your charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus or any other bus transportation that you may have booked ahead of time.
In South Philly, Bus Company Philadelphia customers thinks that there lies another very comfortably-themed BYOB restaurant called the L'Angolo's. The restaurant offer reasonably-priced dishes, cozy and casual atmosphere and serves some superb to-die-for pasta dishes that you will most definitely fall in love with. Bus Company Philadelphia customers found the waiters and chefs very friendly. If there is one thing that distinguishes L'Angolo's customers from the rest, it is the fact that they have a very loyal following...and for a very good reason too. Try to snag a table there on a Friday or a Saturday without making a reservation is close to impossible, in our personal opinion.
